African SuperCar: Laraki Epitome

The Laraki Epitome is an Africa supercar built by Laraki. The company was established in 1999 by Abdesslam Laraki, a Moroccan designer and entrepreneur. His son and the current owner of the firm is Abdeslam Laraki, a Moroccan designer who started out creating luxurious yachts and created the eponym company Laraki.

Following the steps of his father, Abdeslam Laraki he studied automobile design in Switzerland and soon after launched his first model, the Laraki Fulgura, in 2002.

The Laraki Epitome was unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2013, with plans of building only 9 cars of the model. The car is fitted with a C6 Chevrolet Corvette V8 engine with Laraki adding twin turbochargers to the already powerful engine. The Epitome can produce 1,200 Horsepower and has a secondary fuel tank which can up the power to 1,750 Horsepower.

The Epitome launched with a wallet zapping $2 million price tag which is around KES 200 Million with hip-hop artist French Montana acquiring himself one.

The car has for now stalled in promises of more models being produced and the future of the car is still uncertain. All in all it has an alluring exterior and maybe a bench mark for African car companies aiming to shake the supercar world.
